This Privacy Policy explains what information the Burlington Sock Puppets mobile app (the “App”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. The App is operated by the Burlington Sock Puppets baseball club (“we,” “us,” or “the team”).
Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and the name you provide. You may optionally add a phone number, birthdate, and social media handles.
- Location (only when you check in). When you tap “Check In” at a game, the App reads your device’s location once to confirm you are at the ballpark before awarding points. We store the coordinates of that check-in. We do not track your location in the background or at any other time.
- Notification token. If you turn on notifications, we store a device token so we can send you team alerts and game updates. You can turn notifications off at any time in the App or your device settings.
- App activity. We record activity you take in the App that affects your rewards account, such as check-ins, Pick ’Em picks, bingo, and reward redemptions.
How we use your information
- To operate your rewards account and calculate points and levels.
- To verify game-day check-ins at the ballpark.
- To send notifications you have opted in to receive.
- To respond to feedback or support requests you send us.
Public leaderboard
The App includes a leaderboard that ranks fans by points earned. When you have an account, your chosen display name (for example, your first name and last initial) and your points total may be shown on this leaderboard, which is visible to other fans using the App. We do not display your email address, phone number, exact location, or other contact details on the leaderboard. If you prefer not to appear, you can contact us using the details below to be removed.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the App (for example, our hosting, database, and notification providers) and only as needed to provide these features. We may disclose information if required by law.
Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time using the contact below.
Children’s privacy
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your choices
- Turn notifications on or off in the App or your device settings.
- Decline location access; you simply won’t be able to use game-day check-in.
- Request access to or deletion of your data using the contact below.
